LNG, or liquefied natural gas, is obtained by the cooling of ordinary natural gas to about -160 degrees.

The gas is compressed, so the volume of LNG is about 1/600 gas volumes under normal conditions. Before the liquefaction of natural gas, corrosion or clogging components are removed. Therefore, LNG is even cleaner than conventional natural gas.

Liquefaction of natural gas makes the transportation and storage of natural gas easy and economical. Hence, the advantage of LNG is the possibility of supplying natural gas that is not connected to the gas pipeline and to transform fuel used for road, rail, air, and water transportation to LNG-based gaseous fuels.

In the use of LNG, the cost of its storage and re-gasification must be taken into account.
