Eesti Gaas has reduced the gas price by 76 percent

As in previous months, Eesti Gaas will also lower the price of the flexible package for household customers in May – the new price is 0.69 euros/m3. From the autumn peak price of 2.85 euros/m3, the price for Eesti Gaas household customers has fallen by 76 percent in six months.

“The gas market price is back on the pre-war level. Since the European gas storage levels are twice as high than the year before, we expect that a the price level will remain as is, according to some forecasts, until the end of the next heating season,” said Margus Kaasik, Chairman of the Board of Eesti Gaas.

Eesti Gaas lowered households’ gas price considerably in December of last year and in February of this year, by 39 and 52 percent, respectively.

Eesti Gaas has signed agreements with LNG terminals to bring a total of ten gas ships by the fall of this year – three deliveries from the United States and Norway have already arrived in Lithuania’s Klaipeda port in January and March, and seven more will arrive in Finland’s Inkoo port in spring and summer.

Eesti Gaas offers customers natural gas in the form of pipeline gas, compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) and manages the the largest gas network of Estonia. The company is actively engaged in international energy trade and develops a renewable energy portfolio in the form of solar energy and biomethane production and sales.

Eesti Gaas operates in Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland under the Elenger brand. The group has a total of 50,000 customers. Since 2016, when the company was acquired by Infortar, one of the largest investment companies in Estonia, Eesti Gaas has grown into the largest energy company with private capital in the Finland-Baltic region, more than 70 percent of the company’s sales are generated on export markets.
