“We are moving from the Finnish-Baltic gas market to Central Europe and starting operations in Poland, which can become a kind of a gas hub in the region. To supply Poland, we use the terminals in Klaipeda in Lithuania and Inkoo in Finland, we sell gas to both the end consumers and the wholesale distributors, and we actively trade on the local gas exchange,” said Margus Kaasik, Chairman of the Management Board of Eesti Gaas.

“A separate segment is regional companies and large joint procurements, which we have successfully done so far in the Finland-Baltic region, now we can offer our customers the Polish market,” said Kaasik.

“The supply insecurity is receding from the market price of gas and gas is making a comeback, in the near future the use of gas in our region will increase even more. Eesti Gaas group stretch goal is to double our energy sales volume in the next three to four years and reach 20 TWh per year,” Kaasik said.

For this year, Eesti Gaas has agreements with the Klaipeda terminal in Lithuania and the Inkoo terminal in Finland to receive ten LNG cargoes until autumn. Last year, the company procured five cargoes of gas of Norwegian and the United States origin through Klaipeda terminal.

Eesti Gaas offers customers natural gas in the form of pipeline gas, compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). The company is actively developing a renewable energy portfolio in the form of solar energy and green gas (biomethane) production and sales.

Eesti Gaas operates in Finland, the Baltic states and Poland. The group has a total of 50,000 customers. Eesti Gaas is the largest privately owned energy company in the Finnish-Baltic region. Outside homeland Estonia the company carries the Elenger brand name.
