Eesti Gaas further decreases household gas price

Eesti Gaas lowers the 35 percent lower December gas price of the households’ flexible package by an additional 5 percent – the new price from 1 December 2022 is 1.75 euros/m3 including VAT.

“The first minus degrees will bring an additional meltdown of gas price  in Estonia, and in total, the December price of the households’  flexible package will be nearly 40 percent lower than it is now. Gas storages are full in Europe, the weather has been warmer than expected and consumption is lower. We have established new gas supply chains and have made a complete turnaround for LNG of Norwegian and US origin,” said Margus Kaasik, chairman of the board of Eesti Gaas.

This is already the third time in the current year that Eesti Gaas has – in the effort of bringing the market price drop to customers as soon as possible -, lowered the gas price which it contractually had announced earlier, one month ahead of entactment. Eesti Gaas also announced similar supplementary price reductions before the March and October prices came into force. Today the 1.75 euros/m3 is the lowest price in Estonia.

Eesti Gaas offers customers natural gas in the form of pipeline gas, compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) and operates the country’s largest gas network. The company is actively developing a renewable energy portfolio in the form of solar energy and biomethane production and sales.

Eesti Gaas operates in Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland under the Elenger brand. The group has a total of 50,000 customers. After the company was acquired by Infortar, one of the largest investment companies in Estonia, Elenger has grown into the largest privately owned energy company in the region, more than 70 percent of the company’s sales come from  export markets.
